What's your preferred search engine? Mine is Google, because they're really innovative with the latest technologies and is widely the most used search engine out there

The first search engine I ever used was altavista this was out before yahoo and google. Then I migrated to Yahoo for many years, then like most people I've ended up using google.
Microsoft have got their work cut out trying to make bing as popular as google. |

I also started with Altavista and the site was very popular at those times. Then came google (I never was a fan of Yahoo) and everything changed. Google had the simplest interface possible with the largest and most accurate search results. I don't really think it has a lot of opponents now. "To google" is now accepted as a verb and can be found in dictionnaries. AdWords is present in virtually every site. They are "The Big Brother" now!

I'm with the rest of you as I prefer Google. I've tried Bing, and I just don't see anything special there. The results aren't better. I like Google. I will use others from time to time, but for the most part, Google is the one for me.

I used a lot of other things when I was first doing searches: altavista, ask jeeves, dogpile. I didn't stick with them for long before switching to google. I agree-- now, "to google" is used everywhere. It's in dialogue and in written communicatino all the time. I do enjoy the simplicity of the interface, as well.

I usually use Google, since no other search engines seem to even come close anymore...which could be a good or a bad thing, depending on how you view Google holding a monopoly. Personally, I would rather see more search engines competing stronger.

I only use google. I'm not even sure why, it's just what comes to mind when I think search engine. It's funny now, when we need to know something, the key word is google. I'll google that one is what we say. Isn't that funny that when you think of online and searching, you say Google it.

Google seems to give the most and best search results now, although if you had asked me 5 or so years back, I probably would have told you that Yahoo or Alta Vista was my preferred search engine. Google just seems to be unstoppable these days, which does upset me a little.
