I've changed the way the forums record when you've read a thread. It could be possible that the 'New Posts' button shows unread threads/posts that you actually did read. This is caused by the change, and won't re-occur. To mark all threads as Read, just click on "Mark Forums Read" below the forums list, and all threads will be marked as Read again.

The system can record when you're viewed a thread in different ways. This can be using a Cookie or using the database. To make it more useful, I've set it to use the Database for this job, so that you can log on to the forums from any location without losing thread viewing history on the other location.

We didn't find any use for this at the moment. The forums get redesigned after all plugins are compatible with vBulletin 4.0, and then we might enable it.
